Discrete Design Toolkit
Alpha-Build is a discrete design-tool project. Its current published material documents a related MIDI-control workflow for Rhino and Grasshopper.
The workflow originated in the 2014 OK Arduino workshop and was released in 2015. It sends MIDI notes and controller data from Rhino for Windows and Grasshopper to software or external MIDI devices. The 2018 release added support for later Rhino and .NET versions; macOS is not supported.
This workflow enables Grasshopper definitions to control MIDI-compatible instruments and music software.
The Rhino 5 version uses MidiDotNet by Tom Lokovic. Later releases use a modified implementation of Melanchall.DryWetMIDI to improve operation within Grasshopper.
